LOGVIN · AN INDEPENDENT CONTEMPORARY JEWELLERY STUDIO
IN THE STUDIO
We make a lot of samples along the way. Some lead to finished pieces; others stay in the studio as experiments. We like having room to try things before deciding what should become jewellery.
SOME OF OUR WORK
TREASURE
was developed in collaboration with the Treasury of the National Museum of the History of Ukraine, in Kyiv. The starting point was the Martynivka Treasure, an archaeological find from the 6th–7th centuries. We were particularly drawn to its small figures of dancing men. We reworked their silhouette into jewellery.
ILLUSIONS
BROKEN ILLUSIONS was the title of our work presented at the 2nd Lisbon Contemporary Jewellery Biennial in 2024. It grew into the ILLUSIONS collection, where breaks became part of the structure of the rings. In Chapter 2, we set laboratory-grown diamonds into the breaks. For us, this chapter is about recognising the value of our own experience.
KEUM-BOO
We like the way gold and silver meet in keum-boo. It is a traditional Korean technique in which thin sheets of 24K gold foil are bonded to silver using heat and pressure. We apply the gold by hand: along a break, on an edge or across a single surface, leaving the silver visible.Alongside our keum-boo pieces, we now also make jewellery in solid 14K gold and set laboratory-grown diamonds.
WORTH KEEPING
Most of our jewellery is made to order. We work in small series and keep a limited stock. We leave our silver unplated, reuse silver offcuts and filings, and use paper and cardboard packaging made in Ukraine. And we stay in touch after the purchase. During the first year after purchase, our complimentary service includes polishing, keum-boo restoration and repair.
